Hospital Ward Status Monitoring

Product in Use

WE-LAN

Wall Mount Signal Tower

Issue:

In hospital environments, timely communication between patient wards and reception or nurse stations is critical for delivering efficient patient care. Traditional communication methods such as manual calls, nurse rounds, or isolated alarm systems may cause delays in notifying staff when patients require urgent medical attention, assistance, or routine service. This can lead to slower response times, reduced operational efficiency, and increased pressure on healthcare staff. Hospitals also require clear visual indicators that can instantly display multiple patient or ward conditions across departments.

Solution:

PATLITE’s WE-LAN Series network-enabled signal tower provides real-time hospital ward status monitoring through LAN communication using HTTP or Modbus/TCP protocols. Installed in patient wards and connected directly to reception or monitoring stations, the WE-LAN tower instantly transmits visual alerts when a patient requires assistance. Each LED color can represent specific conditions:

  • Red: Emergency – Immediate medical response required
  • Amber: Nurse assistance requested
  • Green: Patient stable / Normal status
  • Blue: Doctor consultation or scheduled check required

This network-based solution allows receptionists and medical staff to immediately recognize ward conditions, prioritize responses, and improve patient management. Its slim, compact design fits seamlessly into healthcare environments, while browser-based configuration simplifies system management and customization.

Summary

The WE-LAN Series enhances hospital operational efficiency by providing centralized, real-time ward monitoring with clear multi-color visual alerts. By improving communication between wards and reception, hospitals can reduce response delays, optimize staff coordination, and ensure better patient safety and care quality through reliable network-enabled signaling.
